Third Assault: Full Quest

Written by Brell November 3rd, 2000:

Greetings all,

Attack on Aerlinthe (FULL Quest), Saturday, November 4th. at 5pm PST

I have been putting this off for way too long - so I am sorry if this means that some of you will not be able to make it... But we will be making our first "full scale" attempt on Aerlinthe tomorrow, Saturday, November 4th, at 5pm PST. We will meet at the Chalicmere Castle Lifestone (proberbly a bit away from it, but within radar distance) - PLEASE be on time!

What we hope to achieve tomorrow is the following:
  1. Run around the Island (not through the harbor area) and get everyone safely to Aerlinthe Reservoir
  2. Give the Sluice Gate Bar (that we recovered last weekend) to the Repair Golem
  3. Make our way over to Tenkarrdum Foundry, where we will repeat what we did last weekend, just a bit more successfull this time. Recover another Sluice Gate Bar (for our next trip), and give the Pyreal Bellows to the Smithing Golem. This will cause Behemoth to spawn
  4. We will then head up in the caldera of Tenkarrdum (the crater itself), where we will locate Behemoth, and kill him!
  5. Fire Elementals will spawn, and once we find the right Hellfire and kill him, he will drop a SoLL infusion (Red).
  6. Upon killing the Hellfire, the Flame Creatures will sigh and dissaper back into the submerged vents and fumaroles they surfaced through
  7. At the same time, Flammas, Infernos, Magma Golems, etc. will spawn at Mt. Espar (Crater Lake). Somewhere will be a Firestorm (the Leader of the invasion), and once he is killed he will drop another SoLL infusion (White)
  8. As the Firestorm at Mt Espar dies, another group of Flame Creatures will surface around Mt. Lethe (Magma tubes in Direlands). Again a Hellfire (who is the leader) needs to be located and killed, and he will drop the third and final SoLL infusion (Blue)
  9. The dropping of the two SoLL infusions at mt. Lethe and mt. Espar will be the opportunity for players below level 45 to get involved. So you will want to be assembled in groups (Malech was heading this venture I think) in Baishi meeting Hall, ready to moove out, as the group on Aerlinthe hopefully finds the right Hellfire and kills it.
  10. While mt. Lethe and mt. Espar is being "invaded", the Aerlinthe team will continue to the abandoned town, where tons of Relic Bones, Skeleton Bone Lords, Great Skeletons, ets, will have spawned. Again we need to find the right Relic Boner and kill him, and once we do, the rest of the Boners will dissapear, and he will summon a portal to Aerfalle Keep (and drop the Ring of the Watchman as well).
  11. Aerfalle keep is a whole chapter in itself. Suffice it to say that it is nasty, and that we need to keep mooving ahead. Lady Aerfalle herself needs to be lured OUT of her chamber - basically because killing her inside is next to impossible with Vapor Golems on an Instant respawn rate.
  12. Once we kill Lady Aerfalle, she will drop a key to a chest as well as a Wand (along with some other Uber loot). At this time, the whole Quest will reset.
  13. Now we head back to Lady Aerlinthe's Chest (still in Aerfalle Keep), where we will need to kill a couple of Hellfires, to get to the chest. In the chest, we will find the Pallium's Robe (a Black robe with some really nice spells on it) along with some further Uber Loot items!
  14. At this time we will be all done and will recall out. The Quest is reset, and since we already picked up a second Sluice Gate Bar, we are ready to repeat, whenever we descide to do so!
Well this is the theory behind it anyway :-) Let me head out the "advice section" with a quote from a posting by Canador: "Something tells me we just need to learn the quest. Right now we are using brute force.. Lets try and outsmart them next time.." - So this is what we will attempt to do this time!
As we work the dungeons, PLEASE keep a close eye on your healthbar at all times. Last time a few died in the Foundry, simply becauase of a few drain-spells coupled with the continous heat-damage. Much like the constant cold dmagae you suffer in Frore, so will you suffer heat damage in these dungeons, so keep an eye on your health-bar at ALL times.
When we buff - take good care that you buff EVERYTHING you need to buff. If you buff everything but only wear unbuffed gloves of Sword Mastery, and recieve a hit on the hands by a Vapor Golem, you WILL go down in a OSK (one shot kill).
DO NOT run ahead of the the rest of the group. Even though you are done buffing, and just want to take a "look around", whole the mages are finishing their MEGA buff-cycle - DONT!
BE SMART - Mule of EVERYTHING you cant afford to loose - you may not be at your very best, but you will be better of should you die - you cannot expect that we will be able to recover corpses! Al-Qadim also added this after our last trip: "if people die we should forget about them once we started. Damien Sarrin once posted about recovering dead comrades. This is a long quest and if we stop and go back all the time, we will get nowhere. It will be up to the dead players to go back to their bodies (if feasible) and recover their stuff. Someone who died can wait for more casualties at the LS, then they form a small group for recovery. The second alternative (from Damien Sarrin also) is that once the quest is completed (or once all the people died or recalled), we all go back together to recover most of the corpses we can. All in all, be prepared for the worst: You will die, and you will lose stuff.. so bring a lot of death items."
Comming from the Reservoir and going to the Foundry, we will need to run a short distance in the Harbor area, and the same when going from the Foundry to Tenkarrdum caldera. Again Al-Qadim offered some good and sound advice after our last trip: "DO NOT run in the water! This is what killed me. I got stucked in an "invisible wall" and by the time I saw that, I was encircled by a zoo of wasps, golems, and whatnot... with Asheron's Call annoying "feature" of you're breaking free and running away... nope, you're still stuck between the monsters and getting pounded to death, but you manage to break free and run away, and.. nope, you're still stuck in the monsters, but managed to get free.. and you're at the LS because you were still stuck in the middle of the monsters."
Once we kill Behemoth, it will most likely be a race to make it to the Abandoned town, where the invasion of the Relic Bones will take place. I suggest we keep a watchman there to warn us if people start gathering there (for a free ride and a shot at Lady Aerfalle).
